Street Cars Fest Finals

Sista helgen i oktober var det dags för årets avslutning - Street Cars Fest Finals´09. Här skulle det bästa bilarna från årets Street Cars Fest Tour möta de bästa från Norrlands-turnén, "Norrlands Fetaste Bil".

Som grädde på moset hade vi kryddat anrättningen med ett par "wild cards". Nu skulle vi också utse MISS SCF 2009 och välja ut vilka tjejer som skulle få vara med i nästa års kalender.

This years's last show - Street Cars Fest Finals´09 - was held the last weekend in October. The best cars from this year's tour would face the best cars from a northern tour, "Norrland Fattest Car". And as icing on the cake we handed out a few "wild cards" to some interesting cars. We would also be crowning this years Miss SCF and select the girls who would pose for next years SCF Calendar.

Platsen var Gamla tryckeriet i Alvik, Stockholm - en relativt liten lokal, men med goda förutsättningar att skapa den atmosfär vi ville ha i det här sammanhanget. Inramningen och konceptet hade testats tidigare i somras - i samband med SCF DAY & NIGHT, och nu ville vi försöka förbättra konceptet och om möjligt utveckla idén ytterligare.

The show was held at Gamla tryckeriet in Alvik, Stockholm - a relatively small venue but with potential to create the atmosphere we wanted in this context. The concept had been tested earlier this summer - at the SCF Day & Night show, and now we wanted to try to improve it and, if possible, develop the structure some more.

Lokalen i Alvik rymmer inte till närmelsevis så många bilar som en traditionell mässhall, och det gjorde att selekteringen fick bli hård. För som sagt, bilutställningen är ju bara ett av flera inslag i det här sammanhanget. Tanken är att rama in "The Best of the Best" med musik, DJ´s, artister på scen, modelltävling och annan underhållning.

Gamla tryckeriet can not host nearly as many cars as a traditional exhibition hall, so the selection of cars had be accurate, as the carshow is just one element in the program. The idea is to frame "The Best of the Best" cars with music, model contest, stage performances and other entertainment.

Istället för att dela in bilarna i utställningsklasser, så har traditionen varit att i finalen premiera "Ten Outstanding Cars" och en "Best In Show". Skälet till detta är att antalet bilar i varje klass kan variera vilket gör det mer rättvist om alla tävlar mot alla. Naturligtvis ska också besökarna ges möjlighet att yttra sig och rösta fram "People's Choice".

Instead of dividing the cars in the exhibition into separate classes, the tradition has been that in the final reward "Ten Outstanding Cars" and "Best In Show". The reason for this is that the number of cars may vary in each class, making it more fair for all cars to compete against all other. Of course, visitors should also be given the opportunity to be heard and vote for "People's Choice".

Söndagens prisutdelning var fri från överraskningar. De bilar som varit framträdande under säsongen var också de som, med få undantag, kvitterade ut utmärkelser i finalen. Största bucklan gavs till Henrik Elg från Klippan vars Volkswagen Passat utsågs till Best In Show. Stort tack till alla bilutställare, Marangoni Tyres, Speaker Claes Gustafson, Konfrencier Robert Johansson, SCF Crew, artister, underhållare och DJ Abelli som gemensamt såg till att stämningen på årets final var på topp. Slutet gott, allting gott. Ses nästa år.

The Award ceremony on Sunday was free from surprises. The cars that have been prominent during the season were also those who, with few exceptions, won awards in the final. The most prestigious trophy was given to Henrik Elg from Klippan, whose Volkswagen Passat was awarded Best In Show. Many thanks to all car exhibitors, Marangoni Tires, Speaker Claes Gustafson, Konfrencier Robert Johansson, SCF Crew, artists, entertainers and DJ Abelli jointly setting a very good mood at this year's final.
